A rare and exciting find, we were delighted to source this refined smoking set by Ravinet d’Enfert, the renowned Parisian silversmiths who made many pieces for Hermès. Presented in its original box, this three-piece set exudes the elegance of the mid-century, bringing a little gilded charm to the everyday.
Lift the lid on the grey grosgrain, silk-lined box and discover three solid silver gilt pieces sitting in a fitted velvet setting; a circular ashtray, cup, and match box case.
Beautifully crafted in the by Ravinet d’Enfert, each piece takes on a decorative engine-turned pattern. They are all finished with a smooth polished trim, as well as plain centre pieces on the ashtray and case, where the original owner could have engraved their initials. In this case, they’ve left that decision up to you.
Looking closer, on the base of the cup and match box case, and on the side of the ashtray, the maker’s hallmark and ‘Hermès Paris’ are stamped. While the iconic Hermès address, 24 rue de Faubourg, Saint-Honoré, Paris, is printed on the box’s silk interior.
